Keeping kids safe

Children learn by imitation, and as such a child is more likely to be safety conscious if you are. Make sure your children or tamariki see you performing tasks safely. These resources might help you get started…

Employees & contractors

Ensure your employees, contractors or kaimahi know how to keep themselves safe on your farm. Use these documents as a prompt to keep them up to date.

Working alone

Lone workers are at a greater risk than employees because they do not have others to support them in their tasks or assist them if they are involved in an accident. How can you be prepared when working alone?

Personal wellbeing

Looking after both your physical and mental health is an important part of keeping yourself safe on farm.

Preventing manual injury

According to ACC data about 20% of farm related accidents are caused by manual labour. The most common result of manual injury is acute lower back pain.
